Bridal Shower Bliss

For as long as I can remember my mom would throw us family tea parties. They were small; just her, my dad, me and my sister. We loved them! We all got to pick one thing we wanted to eat. She would pull out her good china and decorate the coffee table. We would all gather round and enjoy our "tea" party. It was one of my favorite family moments. So, naturally when I got engaged they threw me a bridal tea party shower. It was amazing! Small tea pots were filled with my favorite flowers. We had tea party sized food and hot tea ( which is the only way I drink tea, and is kinda weird because I grew up down south where it is ice tea year round). When it came to picking out my dress for the occasion, I knew I wanted something that looked a little proper yet was modern and floral. I got on the Internet to shop and I landed on Asos and found the perfect dress. It was the first dress that came up when I searched floral, and it just said "wow"! It fit perfectly; best part is I can wear it to work as well. I paired it with rose gold studded pumps, a rose gold watch and bracelet.  There is nothing I don't love about this dress. So, if your looking for a floral pop or just a fun dress to wear to work check this one out!

With my beautiful mom, who's outfit I picked to coordinate with mine. lol

Orange crush!

I have had this dress for a little over a year now and have worn it so many ways. So, when I was on the BCBG site and saw that it was still on the site to buy I knew I wanted to do a post on it. I styled it with gladiator sandals for my wedding trip to Texas. However, when I got to Texas and was running wedding errands I ran into and fell in love with these fluffy shoes! I just can't get enough of them! You know that moment when you see something and you say "wow I have to have that" well that's what happened. I learned the wow factor from my mom a long time ago and have fully put it into practice in my life. I also used it when styling clients at work, if it doesn't say "wow" I don't buy. If I buy it when it doesn't say "wow" it either ends up staying in my closet for me to forget about or I end up returning it. Either way I lose, I lose money if it just sits in my closet and I lose time returning it. So, make sure no matter what your purchase ( a pillow, ring, or couch) that it always says "wow"!

P.s this dress is sooo comfy and is good for those days that you either want to eat a lot or just feel bloated! Lol

Epic fail

Not a usual title for a blog post but it felt like the right one for this look. I love everything about this look and fell in love with how comfy these pants were from the moment I tried them on. However, I wore them before I decided to do a blog post on them so I needed to wash them. I followed the care instructions and didn't think I'd have a problem, khowever when the day came to shoot the look I put them on and they had shrunk! 😭 They shrunk just enough to not look good with heels and were still a lil short for flats. So, I decide not to do a blog post on the look at the time. Then a few weeks later I decided to wear them to work with flats, I got a TON of compliments! So, I decided to write this post and just stress that you dry clean them instead of follow the care instructions so that yours don't shrink like mine. Lol  I hope y'all enjoy the look and find a way to take what might be a fail and turn it into a win!

Farmers market and flamingos

One of the things I have loved about living in Charlotte NC is the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market. Although I don't get to go much working retail hours, but when I do go I love it! It is the biggest farmers market I have ever been to thus far, and has amazing selections. From flowers and vegetables, to meat and dairy; the amount of options is quite unbelievable. The atmosphere is fresh, fun and exciting. So, when my mom and sister made a surprise visit I knew I wanted to take them there again. We had wedding errands to run so I wanted to be a lil dressed up. I had recently found this amazing flamingo shirt while shopping at one of my favorite boutiques and had been dying to wear it.  I had no idea when I put it on that I would later find a wine to match! Lol You can wear this shirt many different ways and I intend to over the coming summer, as it is very comfy. I paired it with my favorite summer jean shorts that made there first appearance of the season, and a fun wedge. I hope y'all enjoy and if you ever find yourself in the Charlotte area on a Saturday morning make your way to the market! Remember the earlier you get there the better and never leave without a sweet treat like my favorite doughnuts pictured below!

Stylish 70's vibe!

When I pulled this outfit together last Sunday, my fiancé looked at me and said "are the 70's back?" I smiled really big, laughed and said yeah! I'm in love with the off the shoulder top, the flare of the jeans and the boho feel. I spotted this top at H&M while I was supposed to be shopping for my wedding shoes and I knew I would be leaving with it. I tried to not wear it and save it for my honeymoon, but I just couldn't resist! The weather had finally warmed to a nice temperature that had just enough breeze to flow through the delicate lace of the top. It felt amazing to have the sun shine on my shoulders and give me a glimpse of what summer would feel like. I can't wait to wear this top again with shorts and wedges for the honeymoon! I hope everyone enjoys and as I tell my employees at work on a daily basis carpe diem, 90/10 ( it's 90% physical, 10% mental) seize the day!!!!

When you are photo bombed by your cat you can't help but laugh! (He loves my purse too)

The big cheesy smile I have when my fiancé takes my pic 😊

Warm days cool nights!!

As we head into spring, it sometimes becomes difficult to know what to wear. The weather is ever changing and it's hard to keep up at times . I've found the best way to do it, is to wear light layers that you can easily remove or add throughout the day. So, I styled one tee dress that is oh so comfy and affordable with a vest two ways. I love both looks equally! One I wore to work and the other a day out with my love❤️! Let me know which y'all like!

P.s always remember to stand up for what you believe is right and to fight for the underdog! For nothing comes into your life without God's permission and protection! (Something I wished I had focused on more the day I wore this look to wear work)

Blissful blooms

As I got dressed for church on March 6, 2016, I had no idea the exciting things that the day and my boyfriend had in store for me. My parents wanted to celebrate Easter early with us, as we would not all be together on Easter Sunday. My mom had it all planned out, she got me an Easter dress, my sister, myself and my boyfriend were to decorate Easter nests for the bunny to come, then we would do an egg hunt, church, lunch and then dye eggs. Sounded like just how all of the Easters we celebrated when we were growing up. I was excited and couldn't wait to put on my new dress! I loved the dress it was flowy, flowery and a touch of sexy. Once I slipped it on, it was comfortable as well. I got dressed, then at my mom's request, I did her hair. We all ate breakfast at separate times. My mom started recording us as we looked at our Easter nests. Following that we were given bags for the egg hunt. Little did I know my life was going to change in the most exciting way with just one golden egg! Well, there were three but all had the same loving message inside(which I didn't know). We all had to pick a number between one and ten( mine would win no matter what number I chose). Of course I won!! So I picked one to open, and it said it has to be read out loud!As I started to read the note, I made it through one sentence and started to cry. I finished the letter and my boyfriend was now on one knee!!! I said yes of course and am now engaged, and it was the perfect Easter! The best I ever had!
